The Hague African Festival presenteerde dit jaar i.s.m. Stichting Nedsom de legendarische Somalische zangers en een van de meest bekende Somalische entertainers. MARYAN MURSAL. Zij heeft een geweldig optreden neer gezet waar lang over nagepraat werd.
Nedsom will speak and take part in “Building Bridges 2013″ on 8th of June in The Hague. An international conference organized by DCMO, the Dutch Consortium of Migrant Organizations and GIZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. After the interesting conference of 2012 which took place in Frankfurt this year The Hague will be the host city for Building Bridges 2013.
Building Bridges is a conference where you can meet innovative Diaspora business organizations. Follow workshops, meet experts with interesting views on Diaspora business and development and broaden your network.
Over the last decade the nexus of business, migration and development has gained more and more importance. Migrants not only contribute to the private sector development in their countries of origin by sending remittances, but also by direct investments and knowledge transfer – at the same time, a strong and growing private sector creates jobs, generates income, and hence contributes to poverty alleviation.
Diaspora for Business & Development
Many migrants are active practitioners and experts in the field of development cooperation and in the business sectors of their countries of origin and of destination. Their intercultural competences, specific knowledge about business customs, markets and products in their country of origin as well as in the country of destination, and their distinctive know-how in development project management make them valuable resource persons for both development cooperation and the business sector.
